NB+C Adds Appurtenance Mapping to its Portfolio of Services

Baltimore, MD. (January, 2016) — Network Building + Consulting, LLC (NB+C) has added appurtenance mapping for towers, rooftops and other structures to its portfolio of services.  

The mapping service offering is a unique collaboration between NB+C’s Engineering Services and Technical Services divisions.  Mapping services provide information that is invaluable for accurate structural analyses.  In order to perform the service along with their Technical Services colleagues, six NB+C Engineers were provided with climbing training through Commtrain, known industry-wide as the preeminent firm for training tower climbers.

“We decided as a company to use Commtrain as the exclusive provider for this initiative,” said Steve Weber, NB+C’s Managing Director of Legal and Safety – “they are recognized across the industry as the leader in delivering best in class tower climbing and fall protection training.”

Tower Mapping creates an inventory of the tower in order to provide specific details about measurements, type of steel, and model numbers for each of its components and ensures that a package of consistent information is provided to all tower hands, preventing costly mistakes.

“Tower mapping is a crucial element of the accurate implementation of new wireless technology,” said Alex Daly, NB+C’s Managing Director of Technical Services –  “With the increase of top side radio equipment and the decreased need for high volumes of coaxial, tower and foundation capacity requires careful scrutiny. NB+C’s ability to accurately document and crunch the numbers in-house allows for an efficient insurance plan to maximize the owner’s bottom line and prevent needless inaccuracies.”
